For YADE releases 1.12.2: YADE can be operated with a Java Runtime Environment 1.8 and 1.9 including Oracle JRE/JDK and OpenJDK.

Starting from YADE releases 1.12 the Background Service is discontinued, instead the File Transfer History is included with the JOC Cockpit.

Starting from YADE releases 1.9 an Oracle Java Runtime Environment 1.8 or newer is required.

Starting from YADE releases 1.6 an Oracle Java Runtime Environment 1.7 or newer is required.
