On-premises Operations

This operating mode includes to use JS7 JobScheduler products from the user's IT environment.

  • The JS7 products are available for Windows®, Linux®, AIX®, Solaris®, macOS® etc.
    • JS7 JOC Cockpit is the user interface that is accessible for web browsers and that ships with a REST API Service.
    • JS7 Controller orchestrates Agents for job execution in the network.
    • JS7 Agents execute jobs and workflows autonomously on supported platforms.
  • In addition, users can deploy JS7 Agents for execution of jobs to a cloud environment, see Cloud Operations.
     

Cloud and on-premises platforms

On-premises Setup: Standalone

JS7 products can be operated from standalone instances. A basic setup includes to operate JS7 JOC Cockpit and Controller from single instances on the same server and to use a number of JS7 Agents from the same or from different servers.

JS7 products can be operated for high availability.

  • The JS7 JOC Cockpit implements a passive cluster that makes use of a DBMS.
  • The JS7 Controller implements a passive cluster without use of a DBMS.
  • Clustering of JS7 products is subject to the Commercial License.

JS7 Agents can be operated standalone, in clusters for high availability and in mixed mode.

  • JS7 Agents offer an active cluster (round-robin) and a passive cluster (fixed-priority).
  • Clustering of JS7 products is subject to the Commercial License.

On-premises Setup: Multi-Client Capability

Users can operate JS7 JOC Cockpit as a single point of control and can connect a number of JS7 Controllers and related JS7 Agents for multi-client capability.

  • JS7 JOC Cockpit can be operated standalone or from a cluster.
  • Connected JS7 Controllers are dedicated to the respective clients. JS7 Controllers can be operated standalone or from a cluster.
