We are pleased to announce the release of the first 1.7 version of JobScheduler and JADE, bringing significant new features and bug fixes.
The new JobScheduler features in particular represent a major step on the way to making JobScheduler a serious contender to established enterprise level products.
The most significant new features and improvements are:
The SOS Security Server – bringing authentication to the JobScheduler interfaces, first of all for JID, the JobScheduler Interface Dashboard;
MicroScheduling – performance enhancement particularly relevant when running tens of thousands of jobs, resulting from a major rewrite of a large block of older JobScheduler code;
Scheduler.remote_scheduler – simple, parameter-controlled “On the fly” specification of remote JobSchedulers;
The JADE Secure Credential Store already described in a previous news article;
Introduction of the clearly defined JobScheduler “scheduler” and “agent” roles, more clearly structuring operation of JobScheduler.
And of course JS and JADE remain Open Source products Made in Germany – they neither report home or allow others to listen in.
We will be supporting all builds of this Version 1.7 general availability release for two years from the release of the first build - i.e. until 30th June 2016.
Downloads for JobScheduler version 1.7.4177 are available from our JobScheduler download page.
