We are pleased to announce the 1.9-RC1 release candidate of JobScheduler and JADE

The release candidate is feature complete, with the most important improvements being:

  • Improved Exit Code Handling which will will allow more refined workflow control.

  • New JobScheduler Reporting Interface that allows easy integration into external reporting systems. Sample reports are available for Microsoft Excel. The Reporting Interface provides data for inventory and for execution reports.

  • Named Monitors, allowing the reuse of existing monitor scripts for any number of jobs.

  • Improved Timeout Control by use of SIGTERM and SIGKILL signals for terminating jobs.

  • New SSH Implementation for SSH and SFTP jobs with improved control of remote sessions.

  • Proxy Support for JADE Managed File Transfer with FTP, FTPS, SFTP, HTTP, WebDAV

And we have fixed a large number of bugs. See the Release Notes for a detailed list of all improvements and bug-fixes.

Please take note of our Change Management information and, in particular, our Deprecation Announcements.

Note also that with the upcoming final release 1.9 and onwards a Java Runtime Environment 1.8 or later will be required.

IMPORTANT

This is a release candidate and not intended for use on production systems.

We are releasing this candidate so that we can incorporate feedback from as wide a range of use situations as possible in the final version. We would therefore very much appreciate every user that installs the release candidate on a test system and reports back with their findings. Help us test this release as thoroughly as possible.

We expect to ship the final 1.9 release in 2-3 weeks.
