BfS is monitoring radiation exposure in Germany from a network of measuring stations. The IT system makes use of JobScheduler to orchestrate the processes of data collection, evaluation, visualization and analysis. BfS is running an open source stack of software components in a geo-redundant high-availability environment for fully automated processing of measurement data. Scheduling tasks include to:

• import measurement data to a central database,
• run processes for evaluation and graphical representation of measurement data,
• transfer result files by use of YADE to BfS laboratories for analysis.

The JobScheduler was implemented for the City of 's-Hertogenbosch to organize the workflow within a network of 141 clients (Linux). JobScheduler has also replaced the Puppet Software (automated distribution of software and software updates) application that had previously been used for this task.

The fail safe and load balanced JobScheduler architecture is designed with three levels: a JobScheduler Supervisor (Windows) handles the configurations, with any configuration changes being sent by the Supervisor to three Master JobSchedulers. The Master JobSchedulers in turn run a series of job chains that send commands via SSH to execute programs and database scripts on 141 clients.

CSI Piemonte develops innovative services for public administration. CSI is based in Turin, founded by Piedmont Region, University and Polytechnics of Turin. Today CSI is a consortium of more than 100 public stakeholders and support PA in all fields: open gov, environment, energy, tourism, citizen registers, health and more.

CSI has adopted JobScheduler as a replacement for CA Unicenter. Currently we manage over 5,000 batch jobs, of which about 2,000 are standalone and the remainder part of chain structures (job chain). On average we register more than 6,000 executions daily.

JobScheduler organises all automated workflows and serves as a central tool for the IT control centre. It's also used for on-demand jobs on Linux platforms. Some usage samples:

• file transfers
• starting workflows
• data synchronization with Oracle databases
• Talend jobs
• starting and stopping services and
• staging deployment

JobScheduler is used to start and stop the services for the corporate employee portal.
