Heartbleed bug does not affect JobScheduler or SSH

Heartbleed is a bug in the OpenSSL software, which is used for Internet communications that use the SSL/TLS protocols. JobScheduler can use SSH, which is a different protocol and thereby unaffected by Heartbleed. The Heartbleed bug is in the part of the OpenSSL software that implements the TLS protocol's Heartbeat Extension. SSH has a similar function – called 'keepalive' but this uses a different mechanism.

Changeover to Java 7

The current versions of JobScheduler (1.6.4014) and JADE (1.5.4014) are the last to allow use of Java 6. All future releases of JobScheduler and JADE will only support Java 7.

JobScheduler & JADE 1.5.4014 and 1.6.4014 releases

This week we have made two two releases for JobScheduler and one for JADE: - 1.5.4014 was a bugfix release for JobScheduler and JADE with minor improvements - 1.6.4014 is a release for JobScheduler which brings further bugfixes and new features in the JobScheduler kernel that considerably extend the number of JobSchedulers that can work together, for example in clusters.
