We are pleased to announce that the next version of JADE (provisionally the end of May 2014) will provide a Credential Store, using Keepass db version 1.0, allowing JADE to access user credentials and other information saved securely in the store.

Heartbleed is a bug in the OpenSSL software, which is used for Internet communications that use the SSL/TLS protocols. JobScheduler can use SSH, which is a different protocol and thereby unaffected by Heartbleed. The Heartbleed bug is in the part of the OpenSSL software that implements the TLS protocol's Heartbeat Extension. SSH has a similar function – called 'keepalive' but this uses a different mechanism.

After careful consideration, we have decided to stop providing JobScheduler setups for SPARC Solaris systems. However, we will support commercially licensed customers with SPARC machines who want to make builds on their own hardware.

We are pleased to announce a new release for JobScheduler and JADE: - 1.6.4043 is a release for JobScheduler which brings bug-fixes and some new features. Whilst the new features are relatively minor, two of the bug-fixes are important and we recommend that all users of version 1.6.4014 update to 1.6.4043.

The current versions of JobScheduler (1.6.4014) and JADE (1.5.4014) are the last to allow use of Java 6. All future releases of JobScheduler and JADE will only support Java 7.

This week we have made two two releases for JobScheduler and one for JADE: - 1.5.4014 was a bugfix release for JobScheduler and JADE with minor improvements - 1.6.4014 is a release for JobScheduler which brings further bugfixes and new features in the JobScheduler kernel that considerably extend the number of JobSchedulers that can work together, for example in clusters.

We are pleased to announce that our JobScheduler job network solution has successfully completed its first tests in a customer's environment.

Our second release for the 64 bit JobScheduler (version 1.5.3253) and updates for the 32 bit version and for JADE are now available for download. These releases are a combination of bug fixes and some minor improvements.

The jump in the versions number from 1.3 to 1.5 marks the release of the 64-bit Windows and Linux JobScheduler versions along with new releases of the 32-bit JobScheduler and JADE.
